چکیده
Objective: Evaluate the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) combined with reading therapy on performance tasks in a serie cases children and adolescents developmental dyslexia (DD). Method: (IRB/UNIFESP number:1281/2017). Four dyslexic students (two two adolescents) were evaluated regards to rate accuracy fluency three occasions: pre-intervention as well one six months after intervention. The intervention consisted five consecutive sessions active tDCS (1 mA for 20 minutes), followed by two-day interval another cognitive skills phonological processing decoding words. Anodal was administered over left parieto-occipital cortex, cathode placed contralateral deltoid muscle. Each session preceded execution semantic-lexical evocation tasks. Data analyzed using Friedman test JT method analysis clinical significance reliable change index. Results: Improvements found text word at one-month six-month evaluation. A significant increase correct words pseudowords Most improvements reliable, some cases. Conclusion: Transcranial program proved effective improving these participants.

Purpose: Delirium is a fatal but potentially reversible disorder of Central Nervous System that adds a lot of costs on health systems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of intermittent theta burst stimulation on severity and course of delirium. Methods: This was a double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled, pilot study. The participants were randomly allocated into two groups of ...
متن کاملRepetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in anorexia nervosa: a pilot study.
The search for new treatments to improve outcome in people with anorexia nervosa continues. This pilot study investigated whether one session of high frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) delivered to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex reduces eating disorder related symptoms following exposure to visual and real food stimuli. Safety and tolerability were also asses...
متن کاملDoes the Longer Application of Anodal-Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Increase Corticomotor Excitability Further? A Pilot Study
Introduction: Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (a-tDCS) of the primary motor cortex (M1) has been shown to be effective in increasing corticomotor excitability. Methods: We investigated whether longer applications of a-tDCS coincide with greater increases in corticomotor excitability compared to shorter application of a-tDCS. Ten right-handed healthy participants received one se...
متن کاملImproved reading measures in adults with dyslexia following transcranial direct current stimulation treatment.
To better understand the contribution of the dorsal system to word reading, we explored transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) effects when adults with developmental dyslexia received active stimulation over the visual extrastriate area MT/V5, which is dominated by magnocellular input. Stimulation was administered in 5 sessions spread over two weeks, and reading speed and accuracy as we...
